Over five thousand blackbirds fell from the sky in Beebe, Arkansas. Sixty-five dead birds were collected for testing. The incident was localized to a mile area. Conjecture: cloud of toxic gas; manna and meat from heaven; or mass suicide, Jim Jones style, by a cult-like bird following.
The cloud of toxic gas sounds plausible.
ReplyDeleteCould be. Some news reports have said the phenomenon is probably because the flock plays follow the leader. So if the lead bird is spooked and disoriented and flies into a tower, then rest follow.
